Healing Shame:

Understanding, Courage & Self Love

Workshop with Ingrid Cryns

Saturday July 21  9:30 am – 9:00 pm (Registration starts at 9 am)

Sunday July 22  9:30 am – 4:30 pm

This workshop on Healing Shame is for those people who are very ready to address, look at and heal their core shame issues. It takes great courage to allow yourself to be vulnerable with strangers and to expose your shame self. This is the way to dissolve and heal shame at its very core and transform it into a new sense of pride, self-love and compassion for yourself.

Shame is the hardest, densest energy band of consciousness to heal. It is so painful for most people that, like how trauma affects the body, splitting off or dissociating from it is an understandable coping mechanism.  Shame is often not addressed in individual therapy as it can be so hidden from the self and can block deep healing of core issues.

shame-652499_960_720To understand shame, we need to begin with understanding the physiology of the complex spiral of multiple negative affect states, such as shame, abandonment, rejection, betrayal, anger, grief, and how they represent themselves in the somatic expression of the body. Chronic shame eventually can become an impediment to growing positive affect states, such as joy, peace and pride. Especially if there are possible hostile or disorganized forms of complex insecure early developmental attachment in your childhood years.

  • Do you carry a shame history that you find very hard to share or articulate with anyone?
  • Do you wonder how to soften your harsh inner critic or relax the obsessive perfectionism that you just can’t stop?
  • Do you have a sense that you have shame about some deep part of you, but you can’t clearly identify it or talk about it?
  • Do you wonder if the blocks in your life are about some kind of shame that you can’t really access?
  • Do you feel stuck, isolated or powerless with yourself?
  • Do you wonder how to address the shame in your body or sense of self when you can’t remember much of exactly happened?
  • Do you want to change your life and body experience of shame into a new self full of self-compassion, pride and joy with your self?

This workshop will cover how shame is experienced in the body and how to work with healing shame.  Your concept and understanding of shame in your body and mind relationship will be greatly expanded. Your dissociation from, numbness or freezing, stuck-ness and/or despair will shift into hope and movement, with new positive directions.

Dark Soul Spiral

Learn about the differences between shame, embarrassment and guilt.  Shame can be a chronic feeling integrated into your sense of self, that you feel deeply within. You will learn about core shame and how it is deeply tied to your relational self and social engagement system. Discover how to shift relationships with others from constant immediate blaming to focusing on healing your unconscious shame instead.  You will learn how to develop a part of you that can see yourself with new eyes of self compassion. You will begin to be able to cultivate the feeling of true love within your core sense of self.

Through sharing in a group, you will also be inspired and encouraged by hearing and witnessing the healing of shame with others, along with yourself. Often, by listening to other people’s stories, your understanding of the places of where shame may have been hiding within you will likely expand, or new memories could be awakened that need to be healed as well. By having the courage to share your shame stories, you will be seen with the compassionate eyes of many, which is the way that shame begins to dissolve.  Once it is out in the open, it can never go back, hidden to yourself into the darkness, the same way again.
